I read a lot of fashion blogs. I follow a lot of model-type females that look like good pictures come naturally to them. I am not one of those ladies.

But I try.

More often than not, I am complete and utter FAILURE. Once in a blue moon, however, magic happens.

Can you see it?

Boiling toast, one slice at a time. 😛

I felt muy feminina today. I had my skirt on and my hair up in a dainty bun and everything! Pictures after the jump…

My compliments to my brother, Joachim, for being there to click the camera instead of having me run back and forth between desk and tripod. 😀

Enjoy the show! I enjoyed posing, even though I do not have a single model bone or photogenic bone in my body. Yes, I’m allowed vanity. 😉

So, yeah, i don’t know if I can keep coming up with inspired looks but as long as I do, I’ll keep posting pictures. However, the blog isn’t just about fashion (or lack of it, depending on what you think — in which case, STFU).

BOILED TOAST is about the rammblings of a 20-year-old, just stepping into the “real world”. My hijinks are sure to amaze you. 😉

Yours until the toast boils, toast boilers. I can’t get over the fact that I’m back! 😀

Ah, the immortal words from the Nutty Professor (I’m pretty sure you thought I was quoting from a certain prominent political figure of our time).

I want you all to know that the biggest EVER inspiration for me in deciding to make this blog are the fashion blogs by Jane Aldridge, Chiara Ferragni, and Leandra Medine, reading Sea of Shoes, The Blonde Salad, and The Man Repeller, respectively. They are all so awesome.

And because I feel like it and because I want to make a tribute to these fine fashionable inspirations, I’m posting a “What I Wore Today” type of thing.

I’m also doing it because I can.

Pictures of what I think is an exercise in sartorial freedom after the jump, toast boilers… 😉

This outfit was worn on February 1, 2o11… for a day in school — rainy, I might add. 😀

Pictures by Louise, who is great for taking the pictures when she was tired but is horrible for messing some up by blurring them… PFFT… 😉

headband: SM DEPARTMENT STORE; cardigan: SHALL WE DANCE; shirt: GAP; skirt: NEXT JEANS; socks: GREENHILLS TIANGGE; wedges: CMG

If you noticed, my hair is short here already. 😉

If I like how this comes out, I might post more. Otherwise we’ll just stick to random wotsits, yeah?

Either way, I’m letting my freak flag fly. You should, too. 😀

Haaaaaaaaaaappy Biiiiiiirthday to youuuuuuuu…

I am officially LSS-ing on that jolly birthday jingle that the waiters and waitresses at Bigby’s sang to my widdle sister for her birthday. Louise should get an Oscar for her “surprised” look, considering it was HER idea to go to a place where they can sing their birthday wishes to her! LOL…

Kudos on the complete lack of subtlety, Lou. ^^,

Now, I’m gonna post what was a fun, fun, FUN birthday dinner at Bigby’s… Enjoy!

P.S. the OTHER birthday gift (having to do with the sticky sweet stuff Kevin and I labored over for a whole AFTERNOON) to follow as I plan to show the world what EXACTLY we plan to do with it… 😉 for now, you’ll just have to make do with the less exciting dinner… ^^,

P.P.S. chocolate cake (i think they’re called midnight somethings) = TO DIE FOR 😉

P.P.P.S. Louise, your little photoshoot’s gonna be posted sooner than soon! I PROMISE!

Oh, lord of all candy corn, I have been blessed by the halloween mother-load! 😀

My sister, Justine, who lives in the U.S. of A. with her hubby, Michael, had sent us a care package filled to the brim with my favorite candy EVAH, candy corn! And I AM SUPER HAPPY! yesss…

Sorry, teeth, candy corn trumps you ALL THE TIME… 😉

Thank you, thank you a million candy corns, Ate Juz… ^^,

i’m baaaaathing in all the sweets… :))

see you when my teeth have rotted to their gums! 😛

Ladies and gentlemen, last Sunday was the most awesome most festive event of my fair city of Cebu — SINULOG! We spent the whoooole Sunday being awesomely astounded by the sights and sounds of the mardigras parade.

In the whirlwind of costumes, masks, henna tattoos, screaming spectators, and lechon (that’s roast pig, *slurp*), I must say it was a LOT of fun!

The title of this entry is basically the battle cry of this festival. It’s Cebuano for “shout loud”! Yessss… It’s MY day. i can be as loud as I want to be and pay homage to the little boy the whole festival is about, Sto. Niño. It’s like hitting two birds with one stone!

Not that I’d ever want to hit two birds with a stone… Nor do I even think that’s possible… O.O

Anyway, I’ll be posting some pictures of me, my family, my tattoos, and even some of the pretty contingents… ENJOY! 🙂

I know what you’re thinking.

That’s an awesome piece of boiled toast, that is. 😉

Hey, everybody! I’m gonna start this blog because I need an outlet for all the crazy stuff happening in my world.

Now. you might be wondering what I mean by the title of my blog! Never fear, toast boilers, the original toast boiler’s here to clear things up for you… 😀

I was having a kind of a hard time finding a title for a blog so I checked this flip-calendar that I own with some awesome one-liners that I can never get enough of for inspiration.

So I picked it up from my sad excuse for a desk and did it bible-cutter style and I came up with this awesome one-liner:

I’m such a lousy cook, I can’t even boil toast!

Lo and behold! Inspiration struck! I could hear the angels singing from the great blogosphere in the sky… It was perfect.

And that, my little children, was the inception of BOILED TOAST.

You might remind me that I still haven’t answered WHYYYY… It’s coming, be patient.

You know how I’m a rookie at this blogging business? Well, I’m pretty sure I won’t be lousy at blogging but I will be mixing it up and messing it up in a way that only a toast boiler can.

*bow*

So, I’ll be coming at ya with a heckuva lot of posts. Get ready for a whirlwind of idiotic sentiments, goofy pictures, and laugh-out-loud experiences that will have you coming back for more.

How incredibly… commercial… HAHAHA… ^^,

Erika
